The death toll from Russia's strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy has risen to five after a man who was critically injured in the July 11 attack died in the hospital, as reported by Sumy Mayor Artem Kobzar.

The official says the man succumbed to the severe injuries he sustained during the Russian strike.

"Sadly, a man who suffered severe injuries as a result of the enemy attack has died in the hospital," Kobzar wrote.

He expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed.

The number of people injured has also risen to 30. Five of the victims remain in critical condition.

According to the mayor, doctors are providing all necessary medical care and are fighting to save every life.

Earlier, reports emerged that Russian forces struck civilian infrastructure in Sumy's Zarichnyi district with three guided aerial bombs.

At the time, Sumy Regional Military Administration head Oleh Hryhorov reported four deaths and seven injuries.

Also, overnight on July 11, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine using ballistic missiles, air-launched guided missiles, and 121 strike drones.
