Strike on industry: Sumy city authorities report on overnight Russian attack

A fire broke out in the Sumy territorial community as a result of a Russian airstrike. An industrial facility was hit by Russian forces, according to the Telegram channel of the acting Sumy mayor and city council secretary, Artem Kobzar.
"Once again, the enemy has attacked the Sumy region. Around eight explosions were heard in one of the elder districts," he said in a video released online.
The acting mayor of Sumy also noted that, according to information provided by the local elder, fires have been reported in the area.
Later, he released a new video showing the aftermath of one of the enemy strikes.
"These are the consequences of one of the hits — it was a strike on an industrial facility," Kobzar commented on the footage.
Later, Kobzar reported that the Shahed drone strike on an industrial facility in one of Sumy’s elder districts resulted in no casualties or injuries.
"All relevant services are working at the scene," he added.
There are currently no official reports regarding possible casualties resulting from the Russian airstrike.
For reference: the Sumy territorial community consists of 21 settlements — the city of Sumy and 20 villages within four elder districts: Pishchanske, Bytytske, Velykochernechchynske, and Stetskivske.
These elder districts were incorporated into the Sumy city territorial community on October 21, 2020.
On the night of May 1, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the presence of Shahed-type attack drones over the Sumy region. The kamikaze drones, launched by Russian forces, were seen heading toward the city of Sumy.
