In Odesa, several explosions were heard during the night of April 30 to May 1 amid a Russian airstrike using combat drones, according to Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov and the Ukrainian Air Force.

Around 11:40 p.m. Kyiv time on Wednesday, the military reported detecting several groups of enemy strike drones moving from the Black Sea toward Odesa and Chornomorsk.

Residents of Odesa were also urged to remain in shelters until the air raid alert was lifted due to the drone attack.

Around midnight, explosions were heard in the Odesa area, which were confirmed by the mayor.

He also warned about the threat to the city center, as well as the Velykyi Fontan and Khadzhybeiskyi districts.

Local social media channels reported a series of explosions in Odesa. Monitoring groups also reported the activation of air defense systems in response to a Shahed drone attack.

At 00:17 (May 1), the Air Force reported the movement of enemy strike drones toward Odesa.

"The attack is ongoing, explosions are heard in the city!" - Odesa's mayor shared at 00:20.

Local media reported loud explosions in Odesa and informed of an intense Shahed drone attack on the city.

Odesa social media channels also reported at least 12 explosions in the city amidst the drone assault.

As previously reported, on the evening of April 30, Russian forces launched kamikaze drones toward Ukraine for another aerial assault. Due to the threat of Shahed strikes, air raid alerts were issued in several regions.

Late in the evening, it was reported that a UAV strike hit Kharkiv, where a fuel station was struck, resulting in a fire.
