Stoltenberg convenes NATO-Ukraine Council meeting after Russia's attacks

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has called for a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, set to take place in a week, according to NATO spokesperson Dylan White.
According to White, the Ukraine-NATO Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, at the ambassadorial level of Alliance member countries. The meeting has been convened at Ukraine's request following recent escalated missile and drone attacks by Russia.
"NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg will convene a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council on Wednesday, January 10, at ambassadorial level, on Ukraine's request, following recent Russian missile and drone attacks," the spokesperson wrote.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced yesterday that Ukraine would initiate a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council in response to Russia's mass attacks.
Latest enemy attacks on Ukraine
Russians launched 158 missiles of various types and combat drones on Ukraine. Air defense forces successfully intercepted 27 kamikaze drones and 87 cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55. The impacts were recorded in the Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
On January 2, occupiers repeated a massive shelling. Initially, Russians launched 35 kamikaze drones, all of which were shot down. Subsequently, 99 missiles of various types, including air-ballistic Kinzhals, were fired at Ukraine.
Ukrainian Chief of General Staff Valerii Zaluzhnyi reported that air defense forces shot down 72 missiles, including all 10 Kinzhals.
British intelligence believes that Russians have shifted their approach to mass attacks, now focusing more on striking defensive targets rather than energy infrastructure.
