Russia fired 158 missiles and drones at Ukraine - Zaluzhnyi
Russian terrorists unleashed a barrage of 158 missiles and kamikaze drones on Ukraine during the night of December 29. Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted over 100 enemy targets, according to the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
The occupiers initially targeted Ukraine with Shahed drones from the northern and southeast directions, with drones moving in a western direction. A total of 36 drone launches were recorded, with the air defense systems successfully downing 27 enemy attack drones.
Around 3:00 AM, the Russian occupiers deployed strategic aviation, consisting of 18 Tu-95MS bombers. By 6:00 AM, they reached launch positions and launched at least 90 air-launched cruise missiles, including Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55.
From the Kursk region at 5:00 AM, Tu-22M3 bombers released eight Kh-22/Kh-32 cruise missiles towards the northern and central regions.
Meanwhile, the Russians launched an attack with S-300 anti-aircraft missiles in the Kharkiv region. Overall, the enemy fired at least 14 missiles, flying on a ballistic trajectory – S-300/S-400/Iskander-M from the occupied Crimea, Kursk, and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation.
At 6:30 AM, five MiG-31K aircraft from the Astrakhan region launched five Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles. Additionally, Su-35 tactical aircraft released four anti-radiation missiles Kh-31P and one Kh-59.
As noted by Zaluzhnyi, the occupiers fired a total of 158 missiles of various types and kamikaze drones during this night. The air defense forces successfully intercepted 27 Shahed drones and 87 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles.
Massive attack
Russian terrorists launched a massive attack on Ukraine with missiles and kamikaze drones during the night. Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, and the Sumy region have been affected by the attack. According to the latest information, over 10 people have been killed in Ukraine as a result of the strikes, and dozens have been wounded.
