Starmer: Putin must not be allowed to manipulate Ukraine ceasefire

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin must not be allowed to "play games" with the possibility of a ceasefire in Ukraine. Ignoring US President Donald Trump's proposal shows that Russia is not seeking peace, states British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as quoted by The Guardian and Sky News.
Today, March 15, Starmer is hosting a virtual summit of the "coalition of the willing" on Ukraine. The online meeting will include European countries, the European Commission, NATO, Canada, Ukraine, Australia, and New Zealand, who will provide information on the support they can offer for securing a peace agreement.
Ahead of the summit, Starmer stated that President Putin must not be allowed to play games with President Trump's peace proposal. He emphasized that the Kremlin's disregard for Trump's ceasefire offer only demonstrates that Putin is not seeking peace.
"If Russia finally comes to the table, then we must be ready to monitor a ceasefire to ensure it is a serious, and enduring peace. If they don’t, then we need to strain every sinew to ramp up economic pressure on Russia to secure an end to this war," said British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
What is the "coalition of the willing"?
Earlier, Starmer announced the creation of a "coalition of the willing" to ensure peace in Ukraine. The goal of the initiative is to bring together countries ready to send troops and support Ukraine.
Last week, Sky News reported that Britain had held talks with around 20 countries regarding the "coalition of the willing" on Ukraine.
Starmer announced a second summit on Ukraine, scheduled for March 15. It will be a virtual meeting of countries from the "coalition of the willing." According to the British Prime Minister, this meeting will be a continuation of the first summit held on March 2 in London.
