UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will host a virtual meeting of European leaders to discuss Ukraine on Saturday, March 15. The meeting will be a follow-up to the recent Lancaster House summit, The Guardian reports.

“You can expect the prime minister to host a second leaders’ meeting of the coalition of the willing, building on his Lancaster House summit,” Starmer's spokesperson said.

The meeting will take place at the end of a busy diplomatic week, after the scheduled Ukrainian-American talks and separate European discussions with the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the defense ministers of the UK, Germany, Italy and Poland.

Summit in London

On March 2, a summit on Ukraine took place in London, attended by leaders of more than 10 countries, the EU and NATO. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended the meeting.

The main topics of the summit were:

  • strengthening Ukraine's position, including military support and economic pressure on Russia;
  • the issue of a long-term agreement that would ensure sustainable peace in Ukraine and guarantee its protection from possible future attacks by Russia;
  • the next steps in developing reliable security guarantees.
