So close! Ukrainian divers finish 4th in synchronized event at Worlds

Ukrainian athletes Kyrylo Boliukh and Stanislav Oliferchyk finished fourth in the final of the 2025 World Championships in synchronized diving from the 3-meter springboard, reports the Diving Federation of Ukraine.
Qualification round: Reaching the final
Kyrylo, a silver medalist at the 2023 World Championships, and Stanislav, who was selected for the national team at the world championship for the second time, started from the qualification stage.
After six dives, they scored 374.91 points, which secured a spot in the final among the top eight pairs.
Final performance: Consistency and breakthrough
In the first two rounds, the Ukrainians performed dives with a difficulty of 2.0, scoring 47.40 and 45 points, placing them in the last 8th position.
In the third round, Boliukh and Oliferchyk showed the best result among the finalists (77.52 points with a difficulty of 3.4), climbing to fifth position. Their next dive, with a difficulty of 3.1, earned them 69.75 points.
Final results: Fourth place
The duo's last two dives, with difficulties of 3.8 and 3.4, were scored 71.82 and 76.50 points respectively.
Their total score of 387.99 points secured them fourth place, 17.34 points behind the bronze medalists from Great Britain.

What is known about the 2025 World Championships?
The 2025 World Aquatics Championships take place from July 28 to August 3 in Singapore at the Singapore Sports Hub and Sentosa Island arenas.
The Ukrainian diving team is represented by 10 athletes competing in 12 disciplines: individual, synchronized, and mixed.
The team includes both experienced world championship medalists, such as Oleksiy Sereda, Kyrylo Boliukh, and Sofiya Lyskun, as well as debutants on the world stage.
The championship is being broadcast live on Suspilne Sport and local Suspilne channels.
