Shooting incident involving police in Dnipro: Alcohol found in blood of deceased
In the blood of the man who died yesterday as a result of a shooting involving patrol officers in Dnipro, alcohol was found, according to a source in law enforcement agencies.
According to sources from RBC-Ukraine, alcohol was found in the blood of the deceased at a level of 2.48 per mille. In urine, it was at a level of 2.78 per mille. As the source adds, this is approximately equivalent to consuming one bottle of vodka.
What happened
Yesterday, on August 29th, a shooting involving law enforcement occurred in Dnipro. As a result of the incident, a man died.
According to preliminary information, the police attempted to stop a luxury car in the city center after observing a traffic violation. After the vehicle was stopped, one of the passengers behaved aggressively and displayed all the signs of being under the influence of alcohol.
The conflict escalated into a brawl during which a law enforcement officer fired his service weapon at the man's back. The man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
The patrol officer was arrested after the incident. In response to the situation, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko also reacted.
Meanwhile, the press secretary of the Poltava regional office of the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), Oleksandr Bilka, informed RBC-Ukraine in a comment that SBI employees, with the assistance of the National Police, have initiated an investigation into the incident.
