IDF takes control of Palestinian side of Rafah crossing
Israeli forces seized control of the Palestinian side of the Rafah checkpoint overnight on Tuesday, May 7.
According to the army's statement, the military destroyed over 150 Hamas targets, and the forces gained full control of the Palestinian side of the checkpoint, located about 3.5 km from Egypt.
At least 20 Hamas members were killed, and terrorists' tunnel shafts were destroyed.
Ship sailing from Ukraine to Egypt runs aground in Bosphorus
Movement of vessels through the Bosphorus Strait in Türkiye has been halted in both directions after the cargo ship ALEXIS, en route from Ukraine to Egypt, ran aground due to equipment malfunction.
According to the Coast Guard management, the 229-meter-long vessel named ALEXIS ran aground before the Haydarpaşa pier in Istanbul.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has exposed agents who were preparing to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
One of the tasks of the network was to find the executors of the liquidation plan among the military personnel close to Zelenskyy's security. The perpetrators were supposed to take him hostage and then kill him.
The enemy also planned to eliminate: Vasyl Maliuk, head of the SSU; Defense Intelligence chief, Kyrylo Budanov and other high-ranking officials.

On May 7, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported that it had prevented an assassination attempt on the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as on the heads of law enforcement agencies – the Chairman of the SSU, Vasyl Maliuk, and the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov.

Nuclear weapon drills: Belarus to deploy Iskander-M and Polonez-M missile systems to training sites
The army of Belarus will deploy Iskander-M and Polonez-M systems to the test sites during an unscheduled inspection of non-strategic nuclear weapons carriers, the Belarusian Hajun Telegram channel reported.
The inspection involves a squadron of Su-25 attack aircraft of the 116th Assault Air Base and the 587th Separate Missile Division of the 465th Missile Brigade, armed with the Iskander-M air defense system.
A unit of the 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade armed with Polonez-M missile systems will also take part in the exercise.
Cabinet of Ministers supports creation of Unmanned Systems Forces in Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has supported the draft presidential decree on the creation of a separate branch of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - the Unmanned Systems Forces.
“Unmanned systems forces are a modern and necessary solution for the effective use of our combat potential and technological superiority over the enemy at all levels - strategic, operational, and tactical - with the help of unmanned systems in the air, on land, and at sea. To implement this initiative, the Ministry of Defense will prepare and submit a relevant draft law of Ukraine for consideration of the Government,” Defense Minister Rustem Umerov wrote.
