Cabinet of Ministers supports creation of Unmanned Systems Forces in Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has supported the draft presidential decree on the creation of a separate branch of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - the Unmanned Systems Forces, according to Umerov.
“Unmanned systems forces are a modern and necessary solution for the effective use of our combat potential and technological superiority over the enemy at all levels - strategic, operational, and tactical - with the help of unmanned systems in the air, on land, and at sea. To implement this initiative, the Ministry of Defense will prepare and submit a relevant draft law of Ukraine for consideration of the Government,” Umerov wrote.
According to Umerov, the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces will help strengthen the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian military at the front.
A new branch of the Armed Forces
Previously, Zelenskyy instructed the Cabinet of Ministers and the General Staff to work out the issue of the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces within the structure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a separate branch.
“Based on the results of the consideration, submit relevant proposals to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,” the presidential decree states.
Later, the Defense Ministry clarified the purpose of the new branch of the Armed Forces. Also, the former spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Ihnat, explained that the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will undoubtedly fulfill their function.
