Russians procure Starlink in Arab countries, Ukrainian intelligence discovers cost
The Russian occupiers buy Starlink in Arab countries. The cost of one terminal is 200 thousand rubles, according to Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
"The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine informs that the aggressor state of Russia is purchasing communications equipment, including Starlink satellite Internet terminals, for use in the war in Arab countries," the statement says.
According to the DIU, in a recent radio interception, the Russian invaders are discussing the possibility of acquiring a Starlink satellite terminal.
According to one of the Russian invaders, "the Arabs bring everything: wires, Wi-Fi, a router..." and the cost of purchasing a Starlink device is 200 thousand rubles (about 60 thousand hryvnias or 2 thousand dollars - ed.).
Russian occupiers started using Starlink at frontline
The fact that Russia is using SpaceX's Starlink satellite devices at the front in Ukraine first became known from the media. Later, the DIU confirmed this fact by publishing an interception of a conversation between the Russian occupiers, which confirms the use of Starlink.
A day earlier, SpaceX owner Elon Musk said that the devices were not sold to Russia.
"A number of false news reports claim that SpaceX is selling Starlink terminals to Russia. This is categorically false. To the best of our knowledge, no Starlinks have been sold directly or indirectly to Russia," Musk said.
Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are working to neutralize the threat from Starlink at the front.
