The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense confirms that Russian forces are using Starlink satellite communication terminals on the front lines. Intercepted conversations of Russians were published, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate on Facebook.

"The radio interception of conversations of the aggressors indicates that Starlink terminals have been installed, for example, in units of the 83rd Air Assault Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces," the statement said.

The occupation forces of the 83rd Airborne Assault Brigade of the Russian Federation are operating in the Donetsk region near Klishchiivka and Andriivka (Bakhmut direction).

Background

The American publication Defense One recently reported that Russia is using SpaceX's Starlink satellite devices on the front lines in Ukraine.

According to one of the anonymous sources of the publication, Ukrainian forces first detected Russia's use of satellite communication on the front lines several months ago. Another source noted that Russians are increasingly using Starlink on the front lines.

Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, confirmed to RBC-Ukraine that cases of Russia's troops using Starlink have been recorded. According to him, this is beginning to take on a systemic nature.
