Russian strike on Khmelnytskyi region leaves one dead

Russian forces attacked Ukraine’s Khmelnytskyi region with kamikaze drones and missiles on September 3, killing one person, Serhii Tiurin, Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, reports.
"Unfortunately, as a result of the attack, a man, approximately 40 years old, was killed. His identity is being established. At the time of the strike, he was at the site of the enemy hit. Rescuers and all emergency services made every effort to search for him quickly, using a service search dog," Tiurin noted.
The Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration added that during the night attack, two missiles and three Shahed drones were shot down over the region. In addition, due to damage to power lines, about 400 consumers in four settlements were left without electricity. Repair crews are working to fix the outage.
The victim in the Khmelnytskyi region is the first confirmed dead victim from Russia’s overnight combined strike on Ukraine.
Russia’s attack on Ukraine on September 3
During the night of September 3, Russia launched another combined attack against Ukraine, using cruise missiles from strategic bombers, Kalibr missiles, and attack drones. Several regions were targeted.
In Khmelnytskyi, the strike damaged residential buildings, an educational institution, communal infrastructure, and more. Power supply and public transport services were also disrupted.
