Russian missile strike hits Kharkiv: Death toll rises to four

In Kharkiv, fragments of another person’s body have been found under the rubble of a building, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
“Fragments of another person’s body have been found. Search and rescue operations at the site of the tragedy are ongoing,” Terekhov wrote.
This marks the fourth victim of the enemy strike on the Kharkiv building on January 2.
Rescuers found the body of a third person under the rubble late in the evening of January 3.
Earlier, the bodies of two people had been recovered from the ruins of the building: a 22-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy.
Strike on Kharkiv on January 2
On January 2, Russian forces carried out a missile strike on Kharkiv. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, a five-story residential building in the Kyivskyi district of the city was targeted.
He reported that two ballistic missiles hit the central part of Kharkiv, striking residential areas directly.
As a result of the attack, the building was completely destroyed, and a fire broke out at the site. Neighboring buildings were also damaged - the blast wave shattered windows and damaged facades.
Rescue efforts involved the State Emergency Service (DSNS), emergency services, and representatives of city and regional authorities. A total of 31 people were injured in the missile strike.
Russian forces targeted central Kharkiv with two missiles on January 2. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the missiles were Iskander ballistic missiles.
Rescue operations continued at the damaged residential building, with the possibility that people remained trapped under the rubble.
