Russian missile levels Kyiv apartment block, 8 people still unaccounted for — Zelenskyy

Rescue operations have been completed at the site of the Russian strike on a residential building in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. The fate of 8 people remains unknown, according to a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
According to Zelenskyy, the debris from the destroyed buildings is currently being cleared in the Darnytskyi district. 22 people, including 4 children, were killed in one city alone. The youngest girl was not even 3 years old.
In total, Russia killed 23 people during the night strikes on Kyiv, the fate of 8 remains unknown, and another 53 were injured and received the necessary assistance.
As Klymenko clarified, emergency search and rescue operations continued for over 30 hours. Rescuers dismantled the main structures of the destroyed building to make sure that there were no more people under the rubble.
Emergency restoration work is continuing so that residents of the surviving apartments can collect their belongings as soon as possible.
"Since last night, thousands of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs agencies and departments have been working at the sites of the strikes in the capital, changing every few hours. Hundreds of pieces of equipment, robots, and aircraft were involved," the Minister said.
At the same time, the President expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims and thanked the rescuers, police, doctors, and all services involved in helping the victims.
He stressed that Russia must be held responsible for this strike and all other attacks on Ukraine.
"When instead of diplomacy Russia chooses ballistics, continues to modernize Shaheds for killing, and deepens cooperation with actors like North Korea, it means the world must respond accordingly. Strong sanctions, strong pressure, strong steps are needed so that the murderers do not feel impunity. Russia only understands strength, and demonstrations of strength are needed now. The United States, Europe, and the G20 countries have this strength," Zelenskyy said.
