Russian missile attack on Kyiv: Residential building downtown partially destroyed
Today, July 8, during a massive bombardment of Kyiv, Russian terrorists targeted a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, according to the city mayor, Vitalii Klychko.
The strikes damaged several entrances of the building, with one completely destroyed.
"Evacuation of residents is underway," he added.
Missile bombardment of Kyiv
Around 9:50 AM local time, air raid sirens sounded across all regions of Ukraine. Following missile launches, reports confirmed the activation of air defense systems in the Kyiv region and Kyiv. Later, the Kyiv City Military Administration announced debris falling in the Solomianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Desnianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the Okhmatdyt children's hospital was hit, with rescue teams currently working to clear the rubble.
According to Klymenko, as of now, the known casualties include:
- 7 dead;
- 25 injured in Kyiv.
