Ukraine's Special Operations Forces used drones to strike launchers of the Iskander ballistic missile system in occupied Crimea on March 14 overnight. Russian forces were preparing to use them to attack Ukrainian cities, the Command of Ukraine's Special Operations Forces reports.

The military notes one Iskander launcher was destroyed near the village of Vyshneve in Crimea. Russian troops had moved the vehicle from its deployment site to a launch area and concealed it in a forest belt.

"The launcher was armed with missiles and operated by a crew. Several drones issued by the Special Operations Forces successfully struck the target, causing a secondary detonation of the ammo, which was recorded," the statement said.

In addition, thanks to intelligence provided by the local resistance movement, Ukraine's forces located and struck a storage site for Iskander launchers in the settlement of Kurortne, also in Crimea.

"Special Operations Forces successfully hit the location of the launchers' deployment. Several drones reached their targets at a time," the military added.

Russia loses Iskanders

On the night of March 10, Ukraine's Defense Forces carried out successful Storm Shadow missile strikes on the Kremniy El microelectronics plant in the Russian city of Bryansk. The facility is a key part of the production chain for Russia's high-precision weapons. In particular, microchips used in systems such as the Iskander missile are developed there.

Today, March 14, Ukraine's General Staff reported that the plant sustained significant damage, which is expected to halt production for about six months. The main production building and a warehouse storing components were among the facilities hit.

Previously, on February 17, the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine also reported the successful destruction of a storage site for the Iskander missile system in Crimea.
