Overnight on August 21, a series of explosions rang out over occupied Crimea, while some cities were left without electricity, according to the Telegram channel Crimean Wind and reports from the local occupation authorities.
Explosions in Simferopol and Sevastopol
The channel’s subscribers counted the most explosions in the Simferopol area. More than 15 explosions rang out there in a short period of time.
Bright flashes were recorded near the Tavria Thermal Power Plant. Eyewitnesses also reported that jet-powered drones flew over Simferopol toward the power plant.
Explosions and gunfire at aerial targets continued in different parts of the peninsula almost until morning.
The events unfolded as follows:

The occupation authorities of Crimea have not yet commented on the situation.
What preceded the attack on Crimea
On the night of August 16, Ukrainian naval forces attacked the launch positions of the scarce Bastion coastal missile system near Rezervne.
The Russians use this system to launch Oniks and Zircon missiles at Ukrainian territory.
Meanwhile, on August 20, Crimea experienced a similar blackout: after nighttime explosions in Sevastopol, Simferopol, and Dzhankoi were left without electricity, while the partisan movement Atesh claimed responsibility for the strike.
