Ukrainian forces struck the Promsintez plant in Chapayevsk, Samara region, Russia, with FP-5 Flamingo missiles, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the military, the strike on the facility was carried out by the missile troops and artillery units of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
The General Staff noted that Promsintez specializes in producing explosive components used for ammunition, including bombs and rockets. The plant produces over 30,000 tons of military-grade explosives annually.
"The destruction of the facility was confirmed, with a subsequent explosion in the production area," the report said.
The full scale of the damage to this strategically important facility in Russia's defense industry is still being assessed.
This is not the first time Flamingo missiles have been used against key Russian defense enterprises. Recall that on the night of February 21, Russian authorities reported explosions in Votkinsk, Udmurtia, after which social media showed footage of fire and smoke at the Votkinsk plant.
Later, the Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that the Defense Forces struck the Votkinsk plant with Flamingo missiles, a facility producing intercontinental ballistic missiles, as well as other targets.
According to updated information, the strike on the Russian enterprise destroyed the galvanic-stamping workshop. Specifically, a hole measuring approximately 30×24 meters was recorded in the workshop’s roof.
