Russian drone strike in central Lviv: Residential building on fire, UNESCO heritage site damaged

Today, on March 24, Russia struck the center of Lviv with a drone. The attack damaged UNESCO heritage sites, according to a statement from Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi and a post by the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.
"The enemy continues to attack the Lviv region. There was a strike in the central part of Lviv. According to preliminary information, UNESCO heritage sites were affected," Kozytskyi’s statement reads.
Sadovyi noted that the enemy attack damaged a residential building in central Lviv. He added that all emergency services have been dispatched to the site of the strike.
The city mayor emphasized that the threat remains very high and urged residents to stay in shelters. According to him, another enemy drone is heading toward Lviv.

Later, Kozytskyi reported that at least two people were seriously injured.
A few minutes later, Sadovyi announced another enemy drone strike on a residential building in Sykhiv (a residential district of Lviv, located in the southeastern part of the city - ed.).

Strike on Ukraine on March 24
On the night of March 24, Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukraine using 426 aerial strike weapons. According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 AM Kyiv time, air defenses had shot down or neutralized 390 targets – 25 missiles and 365 drones.
In the Poltava community, residential buildings and a hotel building were damaged. Two people were reported dead. Another 11 sustained injuries and received necessary medical assistance.
Additionally, in the morning, Russian forces struck a high-rise building in Dnipro. The attack caused fires, and nine people are known to have been injured, including a one-and-a-half-year-old child.
The Russian army also attacked a suburban train on the Slatyne–Kharkiv route with a strike drone. The attack resulted in one death and multiple injuries.
