Russian troops launched dozens of missiles and nearly 400 drones at Ukraine overnight. Most enemy targets were shot down by air defense forces, but there were hits, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“On the night of March 24, the enemy carried out a combined strike on critical infrastructure facilities of Ukraine using attack UAVs, air- and ground-launched missiles,” the Air Force said.

In total, radio engineering troops of the Air Force detected 426 aerial attack assets:

  • 7 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
  • 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launch area – airspace over the Caspian Sea);
  • 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
  • 4 guided air-launched missiles Kh-59/69/31;
  • 392 attack drones of the Shahed type, Gerbera, Italmas, and UAVs of other types from seven directions.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data as of 9 am Kyiv time, air defense shot down or suppressed 390 targets – 25 missiles and 365 UAVs of various types:

  • 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
  • 2 guided air-launched missiles Kh-59/69;
  • 365 enemy UAVs of various types.

At the same time, hits by 6 missiles and 27 attack UAVs were recorded at 22 locations, as well as the debris of downed UAVs at 10 locations. Information on three enemy missiles is being clarified.

Russian strike on Ukraine on the night of March 24

Russian troops carried out a massive strike on Ukraine overnight on March 24 using drones and missiles of various types.

In the Poltava community, damage to residential buildings and a hotel building was recorded. Fires broke out as a result of the strikes, and emergency services promptly arrived at the scenes. In total, two people are known to have been killed. Another 11 people were injured and received the necessary medical assistance.

Russian troops also attacked a suburban train on the Slatyne–Kharkiv route with a strike drone. As a result of the attack, there are dead and wounded.
