On the night of March 24, Russia struck the Poltava region. During the air raid alert, Ukrainian air defense forces were deployed in the region, and residents were advised to remain in shelters until the threat had passed, according to Vitalii Diakovnych, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

Aftermath

As of 3:25 a.m. Kyiv time, damage to residential buildings and a hotel has been reported in the Poltava community. The strikes caused fires, and emergency services quickly arrived at the scene.

Casualties

As of 3:40 a.m., two people had been killed. Seven others were injured and received necessary medical care.

Later, as of 4 a.m., the number of casualties rose to eleven.

Cleanup efforts ongoing

Rescue workers, medical personnel, and other specialized services continue to work at the sites. Experts are working to address the aftermath of the attack and assess the extent of the damage, as well as the condition of the victims.

Russian strikes on Ukraine

On the evening of March 23, Russian forces again attacked the Odesa region with strike drones, striking the Odesa district. One of the drones hit a public transportation stop, resulting in casualties, according to Oleh Kiper, head of the regional military administration.

Law enforcement agencies have detained a suspect in connection with the explosion in Bucha, which occurred on the morning of March 23. As a result of joint operational efforts by National Police and Security Service of Ukraine officers, a 21-year-old resident was identified and detained, law enforcement sources reported.

On the evening of March 23, an incident occurred in Sevastopol—an explosion followed by a fire in a residential building on Korchagin Street. According to the so-called governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, there were no fatalities as a result of the explosion in the residential building on Korchagin Street.

Following the incident, a fire broke out in the high-rise building, engulfing at least three floors; it was classified as a third-degree fire, and the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
