Drones strike plant in Russian Saransk: Details of attack on unique facility
On the night of April 5, drones attacked a factory in Saransk. The plant produces fiber optic cables for drones and is the only one of its kind in Russia, according to the Telegram channel Baza.
"UAVs attacked the fiber optic production plant in Saransk. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in the area of the facility," the report states.

On the night of April 6, 2025, Russian forces launched a combined attack on Ukraine, employing both drones and missiles, including ballistic types. This assault resulted in casualties and damage across multiple regions.
Beginning on the evening of April 5, Russian occupiers launched attack drones targeting the eastern, northern, central, and southern regions of Ukraine. Around 1:43 AM, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a missile threat to southern regions, followed by movements of missiles toward central areas. Monitoring groups noted the launch of Kalibr cruise missiles from the sea and the deployment of Tu-95MS aircraft. By approximately 5:00 AM, a ballistic missile threat was announced, with rapid targets heading toward Kyiv.
Zelenskyy details US Patriot plans, sets goals for Ramstein talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine faces two key tasks in the framework of the Ramstein meeting. These include advancing decisions on air defense, particularly the Patriot system, and addressing the issue of contingents.
"I have instructed the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to intensify contacts with partners regarding air defense. A meeting is being prepared within the context of Ramstein. There are two main tasks today: air defense, specifically the Patriot system, and the second task is the contingents — bringing all decisions as close as possible and working through all the details," Zelenskyy said.

The US government is considering options to reduce costs by laying off non-essential employees in security agencies, according to CNN.
In the coming days, the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, will begin reducing the Department of Homeland Security staff. Significant cuts are expected across all agencies, including the Secret Service.
Bessent accuses Zelenskyy of derailing subsoil deal, recalls Trump feud
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recalled a heated exchange at the White House during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit. He accused Zelenskyy of failing to sign the subsoil agreement in an interview with controversial journalist Tucker Carlson.
"He made it to the Oval Office and destroyed what should have been the easiest deal in the world," Bessent said.
