Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine faces two key tasks in the framework of the Ramstein meeting. These include advancing decisions on air defense, particularly the Patriot system, and addressing the issue of contingents.

"I have instructed the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to intensify contacts with partners regarding air defense. A meeting is being prepared within the context of Ramstein. There are two main tasks today: air defense, specifically the Patriot system, and the second task is the contingents — bringing all decisions as close as possible and working through all the details," Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president also added that he "instructed bilateral work on air defense," especially with the United States, "which has enough potential to help stop any terror."

"Corresponding will and decisions are needed to protect as many lives as possible from Russian ballistic missiles. Strengthening our air shield will simultaneously strengthen our entire diplomacy," the president concluded.

Trump promises to help Ukraine with Patriot air defense

About two weeks ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation.

During the conversation, the Ukrainian leader emphasized the importance of protecting civilians with the Patriot missile systems. Trump responded by agreeing to revisit the issue, considering the resources available to European countries.
