Russia unable to launch counteroffensive against Zaporizhzhia
Russian forces lack the strength for an offensive on Zaporizhzhia, preparing instead for assault operations near several regional settlements, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council.
According to Kovalenko, Russian forces are not currently positioned for an advance on the city of Zaporizhzhia. Instead, the enemy is preparing tactical assault operations in areas surrounding several settlements along the Zaporizhzhia direction.
In particular, Russian forces view the Kurakhove direction as part of potential operations within the Zaporizhzhia region.
Kovalenko added that Russian military correspondents would likely escalate public panic by exaggerating these plans.
Risk of an offensive against Zaporizhzhia
Recently, some experts and media have suggested that Russian forces are amassing troops for a large-scale offensive on Zaporizhzhia.
Ukraine's Defense Forces are stationed in the area and are preparing for worst-case scenarios.
Meanwhile, Russian forces continue their aggressive shelling of the regional center.
On the night of November 11, a series of explosions occurred in Zaporizhzhia. Later, reports confirmed that Russian forces had struck the city three times with aerial bombs.
Preliminary data indicates that one person was killed and three were injured in the attack.
On the night of November 12, Russian forces struck an apartment building in the Zaporizhzhia region, trapping several individuals inside the building.
