The night of August 26 did not pass without further Russian attacks in the Sumy region. Drones struck several communities and the regional center, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, and Serhii Kryvosheyko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration.

In Sumy, 2 Russian drones hit different areas. One strike hit the Kovpakivskyi district, the other - the Zarichnyi district. As a result of the Russian strike, warehouses were damaged and non-residential buildings caught fire. There were no casualties in the city.

After 1 a.m., a Russian drone attacked the Shostka community. Some residents were left without electricity. In addition, damage to a residential building was reported.

Around 3 a.m., Russia launched a new wave of drones. The Sumy and Bezdryk communities were subjected to massive attacks. The strikes caused a fire and damaged residential and non-residential buildings.

As a result of the Russian strikes, a 51-year-old woman was hospitalized, and a 63-year-old woman was treated by medics on the spot.

Russia did not spare the Putyvl region either. Drones damaged non-residential premises and local equipment.

Russian strikes on Sumy region

Russian troops continue to strike the Sumy region. Almost every day, the region suffers new Russian attacks, each of which leaves behind destroyed houses, wounded people, and infrastructure that cannot be restored.

On August 25, Russia struck Pishchane. As a result of the Russian strike, one of the streets was almost destroyed. 5 people were injured, and several houses are no longer suitable for living.

Just the day before, on August 24, Russia launched a swarm of drones at Sumy. At least ten hits were recorded in the city. Problems with electricity supply were again reported in parts of the Bilopillia and Vorozhba communities.

Also, on the night of August 18, the Russian army struck residential areas and civilian infrastructure. In the Shostka community, private houses and farm buildings were damaged, and large-scale fires broke out. They were extinguished, and fortunately, there were no casualties. Russia destroyed one of the buildings of Sumy State University.
