Drone hits Sumy, sparking blaze - Some residents injured

Around midnight, a Russian drone struck a residential building in the Pishchanske district of the Sumy community, setting the house on fire, according to the press service of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
"About an hour ago, a Russian UAV struck a residential building in the Pishchanske district of the Sumy community. The strike caused the house to catch fire, and preliminary reports indicate there are casualties," the Sumy Regional Military Administration said in a statement.
Rescue operations are ongoing, with emergency services working at the scene.
Ukraine’s Air Force has warned of continued drone threats across the region, with Sumy, Konotop, Shostka, Nedryhailiv, and other settlements under risk of attack.
Previous attacks in Sumy region
On August 18, a Russian strike hit a residential area in the Shostka community, setting homes and farm buildings ablaze. Fires were extinguished, and no casualties were reported.
The same day, Sumy State University was also struck, with one of its buildings destroyed. Firefighters battled the blaze into the morning. Other civilian infrastructure sites were also targeted.
Earlier, on August 15, a Russian drone hit a market in central Sumy, sparking a fire. And on August 10, a drone struck the building of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, though no one was injured.
