Russian troops attacked the infrastructure of the Pivdennyi port near Odesa at night, causing several fires, according to Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development.

"In the Odesa region, Russia struck the port territory with drones, destroying logistics facilities and damaging hangars, a locomotive, and industrial buildings. A fire broke out," Kuleba says.

According to him, as of this morning, emergency services and port workers are still repairing the damage.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority adds that the attack on the port of Pivdennyi caused damage to industrial and railway infrastructure.

Russian strikes on Ukraine on January 28

On the night of January 28, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 146 strike drones from different directions. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 103 Russian drones.

Russia struck Kyiv, damaging a high-rise building, and several cars were damaged in the Holosiivskyi district.

In addition, in the early morning, Russia struck Zaporizhzhia. Two people were injured. Also, as a result of a fire that broke out at the site of the strike, over 100 apartments and 20 cars were damaged.

On the night of January 28, Russia struck Odesa with drones again. Several objects, including a religious complex and residential buildings, were damaged, but there were no casualties.
