Russia strikes energy in 3 Ukrainian regions: Worst blackouts reported

Russian troops attacked energy facilities in three regions of Ukraine. The most difficult situation remains in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
"Russia has again attacked the energy infrastructure of the Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions. At the same time, the situation in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions remains difficult. Energy workers are working around the clock to restore power to consumers," the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine says.
All possible measures are also being taken to ensure the stable operation of the power system amid constant attacks. As of October 7, electricity consumption restrictions are in place in the Chernihiv region.
"Preparations for the heating season are continuing: repairs and restoration of energy facilities are being carried out, stocks of necessary resources are being formed, and measures are being taken to strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure," the Ministry adds.
Russian strikes on Ukraine on October 7
Yesterday evening, the Russians launched attack drones. An alarm was sounded in a number of regions. In the morning, it became known that the Russians had struck the Sumy community with drones - part of the city has power outages.
The Russians also struck Poltava and the surrounding region, hitting a railway depot and leaving part of the city without electricity.
In addition, Russian troops attacked the Chernihiv region with strike drones and caused a fire. A Russian strike hit a grain storage facility.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians struck Ukraine with Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 152 Shahed and Gerbera strike drones, as well as other types of drones, during the night.
