On the night of October 7, the Poltava region in Ukraine was attacked by enemy drones. In the city of Poltava itself, a railway depot and an energy facility were hit, according Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba.

"In Poltava, the locomotive depot, the power supply section, and the traction substations were hit. Administrative and warehouse premises, as well as rolling stock, were damaged. Fires broke out and were extinguished by rescuers," Kuleba wrote.

According to him, there were no casualties.

Due to the attack, the Kharkiv–Lviv, Lviv–Kharkiv, and Kramatorsk–Lviv trains were temporarily delayed – all are now running.

Strike on the energy sector

As a result of the enemy's strikes, an energy facility was also damaged – more than a thousand households in Poltava and surrounding settlements were left without power.

According to Volodymyr Kohut, the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, 28 legal entities and 1,070 households in the region were left without electricity.

Additionally, a private house was damaged by the debris.

Response teams are working at the sites. Specialists are inspecting the areas, restoring power supply, and assisting people.

On the night of Tuesday, October 7, the enemy attacked the city of Poltava with drones. After the first night, air defense operations were underway in the region.

There were also reports of a drone attack on Sumy on the night of October 7. Part of the city is experiencing power supply disruptions.
