Russia strikes energy grid in Ukraine's Odesa region, widespread damage and blackouts reported

Russian troops attacked an energy facility in the Odesa region overnight. As a result of the Russian attack, nearly 20,000 households were left without power, according to the DTEK energy company.
"On the night of April 6, the Russians struck an energy facility. By morning, power engineers had restored electricity to critical infrastructure and nearly 3,000 households," DTEK notes.
Another 16,700 households in parts of the Prymorskyi, Khadzhybeiskyi, and Kyivskyi districts of Odesa remain without power.
"The damage is significant, and restoration will take time. We are working on site: clearing debris and doing everything possible to restore power as quickly as possible," DTEK adds.
Russian strikes on Ukraine on April 6
Russian troops shelled many regions in Ukraine last night, April 6. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia attacked Ukraine with 141 Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas strike drones. 114 Russian drones were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces.
At the same time, 26 Russian strike drones were recorded hitting 17 locations, and downed Russian targets were found at 13 locations.
In particular, Russia attacked energy infrastructure in the Chernihiv region overnight. As a result of the strike, over 280,000 residents in the Chernihiv and Koriukivka districts of the Chernihiv region, as well as parts of the Kyiv region, were left without power.
Additionally, on the night of April 6, Russians carried out a massive strike on residential areas in Odesa; the strike on a high-rise building resulted in casualties and injuries.
