On the night of April 6, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on residential neighborhoods in Odesa, deliberately striking residential buildings, according to the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.
As of this morning, three deaths have been officially confirmed. The most terrible loss is the life of a child, cut short by Russian terror.
As for the wounded, their number has risen to 10 people. Two of them are in serious condition: one patient is in neurosurgery, the other is in the burn intensive care unit. Odesa medics are working in enhanced mode.
Among the 10 wounded are a 2-year-old child and two teenagers aged 17 and 18. Fortunately, their lives are not in danger at the moment; they are under the supervision of specialists and are in moderate condition.
Scale of destruction in the city's districts
The enemy attacked civilian infrastructure in two key districts of Odesa.
In the Prymorskyi district, a residential multi-story complex and 7 private houses have been damaged. Utility services are already clearing the areas and urgently covering window openings with boards.
In the Kyivskyi district, one multi-story building and 5 private houses were affected.
Overall, a private kindergarten, a store, and an entire parking lot were attacked — 27 cars were damaged.
Operational headquarters have been set up at the impact sites. Utility workers and rescuers are working side by side to eliminate the consequences as quickly as possible.
Specialists at the headquarters have already begun accepting applications from owners of damaged housing. Affected Odesa residents can count on financial assistance from the city budget and payments under the state eRecovery program.
In addition, all victims are receiving psychological and legal support from specialists of the district administrations.
Russia regularly attacks Odesa with Shahed-type attack drones, which approach mainly from the Black Sea. During such attacks, explosions are heard in the city, and air defense systems are active.
For example, on the afternoon of April 2, explosions were heard in Odesa during a missile attack. After the first explosion, residents heard another one a few minutes later.
On the night of March 31, drones struck a nine-story residential building — one man was injured.
