Russia massively strikes Ukraine's Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia: Full aftermath

Kyiv and the surrounding region

As a result of the strikes on Kyiv, debris from Russian strikes fell into a courtyard in the Podilskyi district. The grounds of an educational institution in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district were also damaged.

There are also consequences of the Russian strike in Boryspil. According to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, a fire broke out in warehouse facilities in the Boryspil district as a result of the Russian attack.

"Warehouse facilities in the Fastiv district were also damaged, as well as one private home each in the Brovary and Vyshhorod districts. According to preliminary information, there are no civilian casualties," he adds.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko states that the premises of one of the high schools were significantly damaged as a result of the Russian strike.

"The blast wave also shattered windows at a public healthcare facility. In the Podilskyi district, debris fell in a courtyard between residential buildings. There are currently no casualties," says the mayor of Kyiv.

This morning, an air raid alert was again declared in Kyiv and some districts of the Kyiv region—Russian drones were heading toward the region.

As a result of the Russian attack on the Kyiv region, two residents of the Boryspil district were injured.

"A 15-year-old child and a 73-year-old woman received medical care on the spot. They do not require hospitalization. A private home was also damaged," says Tkachenko.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy comments on the Russian attack.

"It was a combined strike – drones and ballistic missiles. The Russians struck critical infrastructure in the Poltava, Sumy, and Kherson regions. In the Kharkiv region, they struck residential buildings," Zelenskyy says.

He also adds that more measures are needed to counter Russian attacks.

"This week, our European allies made important decisions to strengthen Ukrainian air defense. It is important that these are also supplemented by additional ballistic missile defense packages, first and foremost through PURL," he adds.

Cherkasy region

Russian attacks were also repelled last night in the Cherkasy region. Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reports that 4 Russian drones were shot down during the attack.

"We have received no reports of injuries or infrastructure damage. A survey of the area is ongoing," he adds.

Odesa and region

Odesa was under Russian attack for over 7 hours last night. Residents heard explosions practically all night long due to Russian drone and missile attacks.

"A 16-story residential building, 2 educational institutions, and a private home were damaged. Infrastructure facilities, the grain elevator grounds, garages, and residents’ cars also sustained damage," says Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

"Fires broke out at several locations as a result of the Russian strikes. The facade, roof, and windows of the 16-story building, an educational institution, a private home with a garage, and cars were damaged," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine adds.

3 people were injured as a result of the Russian attack on Odesa.

"They are men aged 24, 25, and 49. They have been hospitalized with moderate injuries," Kiper adds.

Zaporizhzhia

Zaporizhzhia was also targeted last night. Air raid alerts were sounded there repeatedly throughout the night.

"As a result of the Russian attacks, at least 3 people were injured. A car and several buildings were damaged. A fire broke out. 2 men and a woman were injured. They received medical care," says Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

Poltava region

Around 2 a.m. Kyiv time, the Poltava region was also under Russian attack. Industrial facilities in the Kremenchuk district were hit.

"One of the energy facilities in the Myrhorod district was also hit. An emergency power outage occurred. Residents in seven settlements were temporarily left without power," says Vitalii Diakivnych, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

There is currently no information on casualties.

This morning, parts of Poltava and some settlements were left without power.

Kharkiv

Russia struck Kharkiv once again last night.

"Overnight, a Russian drone struck the balcony of the fourth floor of a high-rise residential building in the Industrialnyi district," says Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

A 30-year-old man was injured. He suffered an acute stress reaction.

The prosecutor's office adds that the Russian attack damaged the building's facade and windows.

Kherson

Russian strikes caused fires, including one that broke out in a two-story store building. There is one fatality, and several people have been injured.

Sumy region

One person was killed as a result of a Russian strike on a residential building in Romny.

Kryvyi Rih

Three people were injured as a result of the Russian strikes on Kryvyi Rih. An industrial facility was damaged.

Russia struck the city with ballistic missiles, according to Defense Council head Oleksandr Vilkul.

"Two men, aged 46 and 58, were injured. Both are in the hospital in moderate condition. Doctors are providing them with all necessary care. In addition to the industrial facility, the Medical and Sanitary Assistance Center and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged," he says.

Ukrainian Air Force's statement

Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 7 Russian ballistic missiles during the nighttime attack, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

In total, the following were shot down or intercepted:

• 1 out of 2 Onyx anti-ship missiles
• 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles (the number launched by the enemy was not specified)
• 3 S8000 Banderol missiles (the total number launched was not specified)
• 222 out of 258 drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types.

Russian airstrikes hit 15 locations, and debris from downed missiles fell at 11 locations. Additionally, some of the Russian munitions failed to reach their targets.

In the morning, parts of Poltava and some settlements were left without power.

In Odesa, a Russian strike damaged a school, a residential building, and other civilian infrastructure.

In Kharkiv, a Russian drone struck the balcony of a high-rise building.
