Russia spreading fake about Ukrainian MoD’s 'refusal' to pay compensation to families of fallen

Russian propagandists are spreading a fake letter allegedly from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which claims a refusal to pay compensation to the families of fallen servicemen, according to the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
Russia is spreading images of an alleged official letter from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which supposedly states a refusal to pay compensation to the families of fallen servicemen due to the "impossibility of establishing the circumstances of death."
The Center for Countering Disinformation verified this message with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and confirmed that this document is forged.
"The format of the letter does not comply with any of the Ministry’s record-keeping standards, and the ‘document’ itself contains numerous errors in wording and formatting," explained the Ukrainian Ground Forces military personnel.
According to the Ground Forces, this fake is part of a large-scale Russian disinformation campaign related to repatriation efforts, aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian leadership and creating distrust towards it.
Reportedly, earlier in the campaign, fictitious stories about the denial of compensation and fake screenshots of articles allegedly from international publications were spread.
"The goal of Russia is to destabilize the situation in Ukraine, in particular by creating fake documents and news, to sow distrust toward the Ukrainian authorities and provoke an emotional reaction in society," the military explained.
It should be noted that the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service reported yesterday, June 16, that the Kremlin is preparing a cynical provocation against Ukrainian prisoners of war and their families in the final days of the exchange.
According to intelligence, the decision was made personally by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.
In Istanbul, delegations from Ukraine and Russia agreed on the return of bodies of the fallen under the 6000 to 6000 formula.
Repatriation efforts took place on June 11, 13, and 15. Yesterday, 1,200 bodies of the fallen were returned to Ukraine.
RBC-Ukraine has already shown exclusive footage of the large-scale prisoner exchange published by the Security Service of Ukraine.
