Russian forces suffered hundreds of casualties over the past 24 hours, while Ukraine also reported further losses of Russian military equipment.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 25, 2026 are estimated to be:

Frontline situation
On Ukraine's Independence Day, August 24, Russian forces attacked Odesa and Chernihiv, damaging civilian and energy infrastructure and injuring at least 20 people, including two children.
Meanwhile, a large Ozon logistics complex in Dagestan, spanning about 130,000 square meters, was struck, sparking a major fire. The facility was a key logistics hub for the North Caucasus and international shipments to Azerbaijan and Iran.
