Russian attack hits two Odesa hypermarkets, warehouses and energy facilities

A massive Russian attack on Odesa on the morning of August 24 sparked fires at two Epicentr hypermarkets. Warehouses, energy infrastructure and private homes were also damaged, according to Epicentr.
Eyewitnesses reported a fire in the Peresyp district following the strike, according to local outlet Dumska. Photos showing the aftermath of the attack and a fire at the commercial site also appeared on social media. Emergency Service crews were dispatched to the scene.
Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said the main targets were food storage facilities and energy infrastructure. Private homes were also damaged.

As of 8:37 a.m., there were no reports of casualties.
At 8:52 a.m., preliminary information emerged about another fire. According to eyewitnesses, it broke out near the Seventh Kilometer market. The same Epicentr store was recently targeted by Russian forces, injuring two people at the time.
Oleh Kiper later said five people were injured in the strike on warehouse facilities in the Odesa region. Three of them were hospitalized in moderate condition. All those injured are receiving medical care, while emergency crews continue working at the scene.
Epicentr officially confirmed that two of its hypermarkets in Odesa were hit by Russian strikes on August 24.
Earlier, during the night of August 24, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Konotop in the Sumy region. The strike destroyed the Korund-S vehicle fleet, burned several buses, and left a large part of the city without gas. No deaths or injuries were reported initially, although the figures were still being clarified.
