On the evening of Saturday, January 4, Russian forces dropped four guided bombs on the border town of Semenivka in the Chernihiv region. The attack resulted in civilian casualties, reports the National Police of Ukraine.

According to law enforcement, the Russian army targeted the central part of the town, striking a residential area.

The guided bomb strikes damaged an administrative building, a hospital, a café, residential houses, and civilian vehicles.

As of 11:00 p.m. Kyiv time, preliminary reports indicate seven people were injured, all receiving necessary medical assistance. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, with all relevant emergency services on-site.

Police are documenting the aftermath of the strikes and collecting evidence of yet another war crime by the Russian army.

Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses violations of the laws and customs of war.

Russia's aerial attacks

On January 4, Russian forces dropped a bomb on a high-rise building in the settlement of Svesa, located in the Sumy region.

The attack injured 10 people, including two children.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that on January 3, the Russian army launched an attack on the Sumy region using shrapnel-equipped drones.
