Russia says momentum for Ukraine settlement exhausted after Trump–Putin meeting in Alaska

Russia stated that the "momentum" for resolving the war in Ukraine has been "exhausted" following the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey, according to Russian media.
"Anchorage's powerful momentum in favor of agreements (between Putin and Trump - ed.) has been largely exhausted," said Ryabkov.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, in its traditional manner, blamed "'fight to the last Ukrainian' supporters, primarily among Europeans" for everything.
Meeting in Alaska
On August 15, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting at Elmendorf Air Force Base near Anchorage, Alaska.
The talks lasted nearly three hours, after which the leaders held a brief press conference.
Trump described the talks as "productive" but admitted that complete agreement on several key issues was not reached. The Ukrainian issue was discussed. However, no concrete agreements were concluded as a result of the meeting.
After that, the US and Ukraine proposed holding negotiations with Russia at the leaders' level, but Putin effectively refused such meetings, stating that Zelenskyy should allegedly come to Moscow if he was "ready" for a meeting.
In response, the President of Ukraine emphasized that Russia is not interested in a peaceful settlement, avoids negotiations at the highest level, and demonstrates this through its actions.
Later, Trump himself expressed doubts about a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin. The US leader said he was disappointed in Putin and was convinced that the leader would lose.
