The ship and boat fleet of Russian forces has no prospects for further presence in the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk reported.
"The strategic outlook for our enemy is definitely not improving, because the waters are effectively closed. They cannot and do not want to bring in new units. More precisely, they technically can, but they withdrew the last units they had. That means the ship and boat fleet remains as it is now, and it has no prospects for further adequate presence here," Pletenchuk said.
According to him, any stoppage of an enemy vessel in the docks for maintenance would turn it into a convenient target.
"Aviation remains. You can see that at the end of the year, they lost several units in Crimea. This is also their long-standing problem, because they still have to stay fairly close to us to operate in the same waters," the spokesperson noted.
Pletenchuk also added that at the end of the year, the Russians increased the number of strikes on civilian vessels.
Russia is trying to establish production of uncrewed maritime vessels. The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine say they are ready for this threat.
The Navy also reported that Russia is launching Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea in limited numbers due to technical difficulties and unfavorable weather conditions. The effectiveness of these missiles has decreased compared to the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
It is also known that the port of Novorossiysk remains dangerous for Russian ships, as Ukrainian defenders can strike them even in the harbor.
