As of December 9, Russia lost 930 personnel on the frontline over the past day. Ukraine's Armed Forces also destroyed more than 400 Russian drones and a large number of artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Thus, from February 24, 2022, to December 5, 2025, inclusive, the approximate combat losses of the enemy amounted to:

Situation on the frontline

According to the latest information, 131 combat engagements took place on the frontline. The most significant number of Russian attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction. The second most difficult sector is the Oleksandrivsk direction.

Ukrainian forces continue to hold Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region despite the complicated situation on the frontline.

General Staff spokesperson Major Andriy Kovalov explained that Russian forces took advantage of dense fog to plant their flag in the city and present it as the capture of Pokrovsk, but were soon forced to retreat.

Ukrainian troops liberated the village of Tykhe in the Dnipropetrovsk region, driving Russian forces out of the settlement.
