Taking advantage of thick fog, Russian forces tried to install a flag in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, for a propaganda video. After that, they fled, the spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major Andrii Kovalov, stated in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.

What is happening in Pokrovsk

According to him, search-and-assault actions and the elimination of the enemy in urban areas continue in Pokrovsk.

“The invaders, taking advantage of the thick fog, made another attempt to install their flag in one of the city’s districts so that propagandists could use it as supposed proof of taking control of all of Pokrovsk. After that, they hurriedly fled,” the spokesperson said.

He added that the clearing of enemy groups in Pokrovsk is ongoing.

According to Kovalov, the Russian troops’ attempts to create propaganda illustrations suggesting they allegedly control the city are leading to significant losses in their manpower.

“Despite unfavorable weather conditions, our units do not stop aerial reconnaissance, adjustment, and fire strikes on enemy groups,” he said.

The situation in Myrnohrad

Regarding the situation in Myrnohrad, Kovalov emphasized that Ukrainian units are holding defensive lines and eliminating the enemy on the approaches to the city.

“Additional logistical routes to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are being organized to ensure uninterrupted supplies of everything necessary to our units,” the spokesperson explained.

Overall, in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the spokesperson, defenders stopped 72 assault actions by the aggressor yesterday in the areas of Novoe Shakhove, Dorozhnye, Nykanorivka, Bilytske, Shakhove, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Rivne, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne, Filiya, and toward the settlement of Hryshyne.

According to preliminary estimates, Ukrainian troops neutralized 104 occupiers in this direction, 81 of them irrecoverably. Eleven unmanned aerial vehicles and four vehicles were destroyed.

In addition, two vehicles and one artillery system of the enemy were damaged.

Fighting in Pokrovsk

As previously reported, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy, but fog complicates the defense of Pokrovsk. Under the cover of fog, Russians try to infiltrate the city.

According to paratroopers, Russians are concentrated mainly in the southern part of Pokrovsk, and small groups are present throughout the urban area. It was reported that the enemy is storming Ukrainian positions around the clock but is suffering heavy losses.

Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Ukrainian troops actively destroyed Russians in Pokrovsk over the past week. More than a third of the city has been cleared of the enemy.
