Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to eliminate the enemy in Pokrovsk and Vovchansk and are conducting clearing operations in certain areas of the settlements despite enemy pressure, the General Staff reports.
"Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue defensive operations in difficult sectors of the front, in particular in Pokrovsk, Vovchansk, and Kupiansk. The triumphant statements of the leadership of the aggressor state about the capture of these settlements by the Russian army do not correspond to reality," the General Staff stated.
It is noted that this is only another attempt by the Kremlin to use a filmed "flag-raising" for propaganda purposes to influence participants in international negotiations.
Situation in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad
In Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, the Defense Forces hold the northern part of the city along the railway line. Search-and-assault actions continue to eliminate enemy groups. The enemy is suffering significant losses.
"Over the past day in the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers neutralized a total of 104 Russian troops. Our units have already cleared the group that, under the cover of fog, raised the Russian tricolor in one of the city's districts," the Armed Forces added.
It is also reported that the Defense Forces are organizing additional logistics routes in the areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad to supply Ukrainian positions with everything necessary.
Fighting in Vovchansk
The situation in Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region also remains tense. The enemy continues to attempt to advance in this settlement, using small infantry groups, strike UAVs, and artillery. However, Ukrainian defenders hold their positions.
The General Staff added that Russian demonstrative missions with tricolors mean only one thing for Russian forces — they will be destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold the enemy back, though fog complicates the defense of Pokrovsk. Under the cover of fog, Russian forces attempt to infiltrate the city.
According to paratroopers, Russians are concentrated mainly in the southern part of Pokrovsk, while small groups are present throughout the entire agglomeration. It was reported that the enemy is assaulting Ukrainian positions around the clock but is suffering heavy losses.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi also stated that over the past week, Ukrainian forces have been actively destroying Russian troops in Pokrovsk. More than one-third of the city has been cleared of the enemy.
