Russia responds to drone incident at Danish airport

At the Russian Embassy in Copenhagen, the drone incursions into the country were described as a "staged provocation," and Denmark’s suggestions of Russia’s involvement in the incident were denied, according to the Russian Embassy in Denmark.
In the embassy’s comment, it was stated that accusations against Russia of being involved in the drone incidents that disrupted the operation of Danish airports were speculation.
"It is obvious that the incidents disrupting the work of Danish airports are a staged provocation," Russian diplomats said.
According to the embassy, "these events will be used as a pretext for further escalation of tensions in favor of forces seeking to prolong the war in Ukraine as much as possible and expand it to other countries."
"The Russian side categorically rejects the absurd speculations about its involvement in these events," the Embassy’s statement reads.
Drones in Denmark
On the night of September 25, unidentified drones were detected over the airports of Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sønderborg, and the Skrydstrup air base.
Because of the drones in its airspace, Aalborg Airport suspended operations for several hours.
Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen called the appearance of unidentified drones over the country, particularly near military sites, a hybrid attack. He also noted that the drones were operated by professional operators.
Earlier, on September 22, Copenhagen Airport temporarily suspended operations for four hours due to drones entering its airspace.
The following day, Danish police reported that the UAVs that paralyzed the airport had been controlled by a competent operator.
