In a massive nighttime attack, Russia launched a combined strike on western regions of Ukraine, including Ternopil. According to preliminary data, a Kh-101 missile hit a residential building there, says Yurii Ihnat, head of the Air Force Command's Communications Department, on KYIV24.
According to him, a large-scale attack was launched on the western part of Ukraine using various types of air attack weapons.
“These were Kh-101 missiles, Kalibr missiles, and one ballistic missile launched from the north. There were no launches from MiG-31K tonight,” Ihnat said.
He clarified that MiG-31K aircraft took off and reached their launch positions, but no Kinzhal launches were recorded during the night attack. Similarly, there were no missile launches from Tu-22M3 long-range bombers.
Regarding the situation in Ternopil, where an explosion destroyed a residential building, Ihnat confirmed previous information about a Kh-101 strike.
“Preliminary information indicates that a Kh-101 missile hit the building. Final information will be determined on site,” he said.
Ihnat stressed that this is not the first time that Russian missiles have hit densely populated areas.
"This is not the first time that Russia has struck residential areas with cruise and ballistic missiles. Such strikes are terrorism, which must be recorded and reported to international legal institutions," the Air Force representative stressed.
