On the night of Wednesday, November 19, the Russian army launched a combined strike on Ternopil with drones and missiles, according to Ternopil Mayor Serhii Nadal.

According to local media reports, explosions were heard several times in Ternopil. The authorities urged residents to remain in shelters as an air raid alert was in effect in the region. Initially, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of strike drones moving toward the region from the north.

Ternopil Mayor Serhii Nadal appealed to citizens not to leave their shelters and not to post photos or videos from possible impact sites.

At 7:10 a.m., the Ternopil Regional Military Administration updated the information, emphasizing that the Russian missile threat to the region remained. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the missiles were detected over the south of the Ternopil region and were moving westward.

A few minutes later, locals reported seeing black smoke over the city. Monitors also reported significant damage in Ternopil.

By 8:05 a.m., it became known that houses had been damaged in Ternopil and there were casualties.

"Russians struck our city with missiles and Shahed drones. Buildings and residential houses have been damaged. There are casualties. The relevant services are currently working on site. I will provide more detailed information later," Nadal says.
