Russia launches missile strike on Kyiv, targeting residential buildings

Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kyiv overnight on July 31 following a drone attack, targeting residential areas, according to Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko.
According to Tkachenko, Russian forces launched a treacherous missile strike on the capital following a prolonged air raid alert.
"There are consequences in Shevchenkivskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. Residential areas were hit," he reported.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that medics were dispatched to both Sviatoshynskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts following emergency calls.
"In Shevchenkivskyi district, the blast wave shattered windows in the children’s ward of a medical facility. No injuries were reported," he added.

Sviatoshynskyi: A residential building was damaged. Emergency services are en route.

Shevchenkivskyi: Windows in an apartment building were shattered; several cars were burned.
To recap, Kyiv’s second air raid alert of the night was issued at 04:29 AM Kyiv time. Ukraine’s Air Force reported missiles heading toward the capital. Loud explosions were heard amid the threat.
Drone attack on Kyiv
Beginning on the evening of July 30, Russian drones targeted Ukraine from multiple directions. The air raid alert in Kyiv lasted for four and a half hours.
The hardest hit area was the Solomianskyi district, where fires broke out and injuries were reported.
