On the night of October 3, Russian troops carried out the largest attack on Ukraine's gas production infrastructure since the start of the full-scale invasion, targeting Naftogaz facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions.

"Russia carried out the largest attack on gas production infrastructure since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine," Naftogaz said.

On the night of October 3, the Russians fired 35 missiles, including a significant number of ballistic missiles, and 60 drones at Naftogaz facilities in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions.

"Some of them were shot down. Unfortunately, not all of them. As a result of the Russian attack, a significant number of our facilities have been damaged. Some of the damage is critical," the company added.

Serhii Koretskyi, head of the Naftogaz group, noted that the aftermath of the Russian strike is currently being dealt with.

"We are working with Ukraine's partners to ensure that the response to this attack and its impact on the overall situation is prompt and adequate. Terror must not achieve its goal anywhere," he said.

Russia also struck Poltava, Dnipro, Odesa, and several other regions.

In the Poltava region, the main targets of the Russian attack were energy facilities.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the Russians fired missiles and drones at energy infrastructure facilities in several regions of Ukraine. In particular, gas transportation system facilities were also hit.
