A meeting between the leaders of the United States and Ukraine and Russian President Vladimir Putin would be possible only to formalize final agreements. Reaching those agreements, however, will be a difficult process and will not be a simple deal, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

Conditions for holding the summit

According to the Kremlin spokesperson, a summit involving Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would make no sense without prior preparation of a final document.

Peskov stressed that a potential meeting should put the finishing touches on agreements already worked out, rather than serve as a venue for initial negotiations.

Complexity of negotiations

The Kremlin also said that reaching common decisions would require serious efforts from all sides.

Peskov noted that the issue cannot be resolved through a simplistic deal, as it involves complex, deep-seated disagreements.

Russia's statements on war and peace

As previously reported, the Kremlin leadership continues to set conditions for ending hostilities and comment on regular strikes against Ukrainian territory.

In particular, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that massive attacks are "effective and timely" and supposedly help Russia's military accomplish its objectives on the battlefield.

At the same time, Kyiv has emphasized the cynical nature of Moscow's position.

Sergiy Kyslytsya, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that Putin is not genuinely interested in peace talks, as he is relying on terror against civilians and hopes Ukrainians will not survive the winter.
