Russia deploys Kalibr carriers to Black Sea: Potential missile salvo named
The Russian forces have deployed four military ships into the Black Sea. All of them are armed with Kalibr cruise missiles, reports the Ukrainian Navy.
According to military sources, in the event of an attack, the aggressor could launch up to 24 Kalibr missiles toward Ukraine.
Meanwhile, no enemy ships are present in the Sea of Azov.
In the Mediterranean Sea, there are 6 enemy ships, 4 of which are capable of launching Kalibr missiles, with a potential total salvo of up to 41 missiles.
Over the past 24 hours, in the interests of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:
- to the Black Sea- 8 ships, 7 of which continued towards the Bosporus Strait.
- to the Sea of Azov - 5 ships, 2 of which were moving from the Bosporus Strait.
"Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling Automatic Identification Systems," the military reports.
Attacks with Kalibr missiles on Ukrainian territory
The last time Russian forces launched Kalibr cruise missiles at Ukraine was during a massive attack on November 29. The enemy fired 28 missiles of this type from the Black Sea. A total of 188 missiles and drones were launched towards the country.
The Kalibr missiles were equipped with cluster munitions, which posed a double threat upon impact.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Navy stated that the effectiveness of Kalibr missiles against Ukraine has significantly decreased in recent times.
